Wii may have won the sales war...

But looking at wiis lineup this year and next year...It looks like Wii is not getting Street fighter 4, Metal Gear, GTA, Prince of Persia, any decent FPS games, a racing simulator, an NHL hockey game, a hard drive. Also its getting gimped out versions of most multi-games like alone in the dark and sonic unleashed...

Star Wars may turn out good however...that alone is worth mentioning for the wii.

Wii definetly doesn't sounds like the true winner this gen right now. However we all know Wii fans are patient people and don't mind waiting a year or 2 for their console to start winning for real...

I'm just saying...ok so its winning...now what? If it sells the most and people love it I guess its the winner...

But do we just close the books and say...ok Wii has won, while all blockbusters (ther than nintendo ones) skip the wii?

Thats fine and you will deffinetly have the right to say this then.

But I don't think anyone can claim Wii has won this generation thus far...which is what this thread is saying...other than in sales. Wii has a plethora of issues from lack of 3rd party games to crappy online that has no comunity what so ever to no hard drive for storage of games. I'm just trying to add the critical view to the thread...or we can all be sheep and say "my neighbour and his neighbour bought it so it must be the winner"

Except that the majority of people only count hardware sales as the deciding factor of who won. People who consider themselves "gamers" don't gain extra power in their votes in this matter.

It's just like saying "this party may have won the election, but most intellectuals skipped it". (That kind of feels like the 2004 US Presidential election, where the UK Daily Mirror exclaimed "how can 62+ million people be so stupid")

PS2 won last gen, which means if you had a PS2, aside from first party exclusives from MSFT and Nintendo you missed almost no game..

Wii having won should mean the same nope ?

I mean if you have a Wii and still need to buy another console because you are missing half of the game coming out, have you really won ?

The Nintendo fans bring up hardware, "olol Nintendomination!", while those that are not so much of a fan are bringing up the software, "but but the games!".

Rejoice! Wii wins HW and 1st party games sales, PS360 win 3rd party support, PS2 wins last gen and budget, DS wins portable, PSP wins multimedia portable, everybody wins, everybody's happy!   

It's a wonderful world, innit?
