Forums - Sales Discussion - wil wii sport/fit outsel DQ7 to become the best seling console gam in japan

wii sports is currently 1 mil away and still selling around 10k a week and wii fit is 2 mil away and selling 30k a week anyone think one of these can out sell DQVII to become the best selling console game in japan

at this rate it should take wii sports a little less then 2 years, and wii fit a little over a year,so is it possible?

Over the next four years it will probably happen, but no one cares because wii fit/sport are ultra casual games.

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

The graphs look kind of funny compared to each other :P (http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=Japan&game1=Dragon+Quest+VII+-+PS&reg2=Japan&game2=Wii+Sports+-+Wii&reg3=Japan&game3=Wii+Fit+-+Wii&weeks=100)

If you compare Wii Sports/Fit to rain Training, which is 200K behind DQ7, you can see that Wii Sports is starting to lag behind.

Wii Sports is down to 10K/week. That would make about 250K for the rest of the year, excluding holiday. It should see a boost then, selling perhaps 150K during the season, making it only need 600K more from 1.1/2009 to beat DQ7.

Wii Fit could average 30K/week through this year, including holidays, bringing it up to close to 3M, leaving it 1.1M behind.

I'd say both should make it.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Possible, but too soon for me to say for certain. Ask me next year in Feb....

Isn't Wii Sports a 'cheap' game?
