Forums - Nintendo - Wii game availability in the UK

Nintendo's two biggest games of the year, Mario Kart and Wii Fit, are still very very hard to get hold of, not many places have much stock.

Why??

MK has been out 6 weeks and although it has sold well, it hasn't exactly been selling on the same scale as GTA4.  I know it's a bit different to a normal game, due to the wheel being bundled with it, but it's not exactly a masterpiece of technology which takes months to assemble?

Wii Fit, fair enough, that is more complex, but after being out for 4 weeks, with steady, but not huge sales, why haven't Nintendo caught up with demand?

It's odd, surely Nintendo aren't holding back units to create demand?  But, if not, why can't they keep up with supply of a simple game like MK?

Around the Network

These games are everywhere where I live (South-East).

I have seen Wii Fit out of stock in a few places, but I wouldn't say it is impossible to find.

MKWii I haven't been looking properly, but I am sure I have seen it around, I don't think it is massively out of stock here (West Yorks.)

It is probably just a localised issue if both games are actually out of stock everywhere.... or depending on what stores you have checked it could be a store problem, in that they forgot to order more, or their order was late or something.

Online stores, more than anything

In the netherlands I ordered Mario Kart april 10th.

Still waiting...

I only saw Mario Kart once in a store (and i'm going to game stores often) but that was just after april 10th, so back then I didn't mind buying it.
