How can you believe any shit you read on 4chan, it could be any random fanboy just stating the obvious. 4chan is a place for pedophiles and deviants.

It doesn't piss me off at all... I just don't buy those games, and buy the good ones instead. The existence of crappy games doesn't make the slightest difference to me.

4chan? :p Lol, shouldn't take it too seriously.
But it's certainly true that developers are probably more aware of the "casualness" of the market today.
However insisting on making a casual game and then going on about review scores is just silly, as if my mom cares whether Chicken Shoot got an 8.5 or a 3.4 or some technical website called "Gamespot"..

All of you guys are missing the point. It's not that he dislikes them making casual games, he dislikes them turning every hardcore game into a casual one.
Got to love the internet, for you see, in the real world, I'm just the average university student, but in the internet, I am a reformed criminal now fighting the good fight on the side of johny law in a black and white noir world where I shoot the gangsters. Oh and I drive a ferrari 360.
I'm saying the post is bogus by the way.
I'm pretty certain its fake. The major plothole in his story is the fact that he mentions "gritty stories."
Obviously he couldn't add a gritty story to this, apparently his first industry game.
Another thing, if he's just starting out in the industry, he wouldn't be privy to those review meetings, nor would he be making decisions about the game.
Also, games are planned out on the drawing board. The development team he was working with would have already know the game was going to be at least slightly casual focused entering into the project. He's acting like it was a surprise.
Finally, the text is poorly written, and seems very similar to a lot of message board text I read often, which means, developer or not, this guy is a semi-experienced gaming forum user, which would point to a more likely suspect, stealth-troll.
In the end, what he says I'm sure is true in lots of studios around the gaming industry. However, I think it's fairly obvious that this actual story is fake as is the troll posting it.
If it is somehow real, and I'd have to guess, American dialect, "fairly big Wii game," "gritty story" disallowed, that would be either Deadly Creatures, or Red Steel 2.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
Well, this guy openly admitting he´s a Nintendo fanboy would just make it obvious he doesn´t like 3rd parties´ attitude towards the Wii.
it will still take some time for people to realise the casual games are just a small part of the entire gaming world. It is just that these guys really are dumb not to see that. It would be a good idea for them to visit this site for example...
@ZenfoldorVGI
No disrespect intended, but that type of analysis is usually completely bogus...
I've worked in many large companies and we allow people in meeting to give them training and experience. Sometimes talented developers are morons in their English literary style. Sometimes people are hired as talented developers, that are not in fact, talented developers.
The person's analysis was obviously impacted by his view of the 'truth' which I agree, probably relates more to what other people have been saying in forum posts...but it could very well be true that he is being mostly honest, and related what he saw in a meeting, as some kind of substantiation to what he knows is the general perception.
So, in other words, lie or not a lie, is a big guess. I tend to take people at their word....for one, why not? Its a nicer way to live, and is equally harmless.
Either way, the shovelware on the Wii platform, is what it is.
I love the Wii though, and even if I have to rely on Nintendo to put out the quality titles, Wii Fit and Wii Sports have made that console for me....I enjoy it immensely.
