The european band effiel 65 created a song about the playstation called my console. It includes a P-L-A-Y-S-T-A-T-I-O-N chant and everything.
In all seriousness i dont know why sony did not endorse the song.
Its popular in EU because literally it was the "First consoles ever" for Europe...with full SW support & so on...
it was the first success a console saw in EU..it brought in millions & millions of gamers...

I take that as you didn't listen the song? And Blu-Ray won the race because of Eiffel 65:s song Blue. Yes, it all depends on Eiffel 65.

Well, Aqua made a song about Barbie and Daze about Tamagotchi. Edit: And Hit'N'Hide made a song called Space Invaders, but it's not about the game.

Before the Playstation, during the 8-bit, 16-bit and early 32-bit era especially home computers like the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amiga and Atari ST were popular as gaming platforms in Europe compared to other regions.
- The c64 was released 3 years before the NES launched in Europe.
- The first Amigas were available half a decade before the Snes in Europe.
The bulk of really good games for these platforms were developed in Europe.
