Mario Brothers 3, Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, VII, and VIII, Ocarina of Time, and even Resident Evil 4 are marginally to extensively better than GTAIV. We want the game to rank up there with those because it's really the first HD game this generation in that ballpark(besides perhaps Bioshock). When we've been feeding off scraps with the occasional Bioshock, for so long, we just don't know how to act when a really great game comes along. However, not ever amazing game is the best game ever, and this one surely isn't. I know because I beat it twice, and sold it back within 2 weeks, and I never want to play it again. I still play Mario Brothers 3, FFVII, Chrono Trigger and A Link to the Past. GTAIV is just not as good....imo that is. |
I actually think Mass Effect is in that ballpark, and far more deserving of accolade than GTA IV. |
God I don't. The technical problems alone in the game keep it from reaching AAA status, imo. I had severe issues with in game glitches and loading problems. On at least 2 seperate occasions, the game froze during a loading screen for me, and the elevators from one area to the next really slowed down the pace of the game. It was also very easy, assuming you picked the base soilder class(whatever that is called, I forget) as you can infinately spam an invincibility spell. Immunity or whatever it was called.
The game was good, and had an amazing story, no doubt, but it just had so many technical issues and felt completely unfinished. I kept getting the feeling I was beta testing and actually said to myself, "When this game is released, it's gonna be one of the best games of all time." Then I realized I was playing the finished version. 8.5/10 is a fair score, imo.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
