Forums - Nintendo - L Button problem on my DS.

This has happened to me for the fourth time. It first happened on my GBA SP. The L Button is jammed and I cannot use it while playing games. I have 3 DS; one Original and one Lite. All three of the DS have a jammed L Button, and I don't know what the hell is wrong with this! When it first happened on my GBA SP, I sent it into Nintendo. They couldn't repair it, so they sent me a new GBA SP free of charge.

Has ANYONE have had problems with their DS's L Button? I'm going to have to email Nintendo about this, because this is just INSANE.

EDIT: Er, I mean, I have one Original DS and two Lites; a white and a Zelda one.

chances are your a lefty and you were playing some involved shooter on your DS, it's bound the happen theirs a little pad and ball I believe (that's usually what they use) I believe it's silicon but it either gets moved or wears out and then you get no response or you have to hit it in angles to get response, in the Ds's case you use the screen for a lot of the shoulder buttons so no real worries.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

It happened to me too,
I first noticed it when I couldn't throw items in MKDS,
right now It works if I press it hard enough.

Same for me if I press hard enough.

And dib8rman, I don't own any shooters on any consoles (except for DK64 or BK Tooie), so it's not that. I only own RPGs, some fighting, platformers and such.

My DS Lite L button is also impaired. I have to be careful to press it as far to the right of the button as possible in order for it to work consistently.

Hates Nomura.

Odd. I've had my DS Fat since launch and it still works like new. I would see if Nintendo can fix it. Do you guys mistreat it? Jam the button down too hard? Drop it? Just wondering because I doubt there are many people who play their DS as much as me, so it seems odd that anyone would have issues with something if I don't.

It happened to 1 of my brother friends, who happens to be left-handed. He's hardcore into video games and gone through a lot of home console controllers. It doesn't seem like it could be that big of an issue, since it feels like half the people I know have a DS, but I only know 1 person who has that problem. I'm left handed too and it does feel like the L+R buttons should have more tension in them, particularly the DS Light buttons.

It happens to me all the time, 'cause of that I always get my Handhelds at Best Buy with like, a 2 year warrenty. I swear ever Game boy I've had past the GBA SP has gotten that. I went through like four SPs ; ; I'ma have to get a replacement DS lite soon 'cause of it. I thought it was just me actually^^; thought it was cause I put it in my pocket too much ; ;

Edit: I probably don't treat it with enough care ; ; but I've tried quite a bit more to be better, but that's probably still what it is.

The Mother 3 Fan Translation is done! Everyone go get it right now! (Mother3.fobby.net)

@naznatips
I think you might be on to something, because the people I know who have had problems regularly with their GBA generally treat them like crap. I'm sure playing games that use L+R buttons frequently, like MK or fighters, contribute to the problem greatly. Judging from these post, it might be a bigger problem than I initially thought. I guess there are a lot of abusive people playing vgs. Come on people! Don't take your aggression and anger out on an innocent handheld. Channel it, by beating-up on somebody you know.
