Imagine the potential for Microsoft if they actually bought out the I.Ps in the first place. So far GeOW and ME were I.Ps that could have been locked down for good.

Wait. GeoW isn't owned by M$??!!

*runs to call Sony*

OT: WTH do we have these threads?

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Around the Network

Fila, this quote shows that EA had to strike a deal with MS to publish ME on PC.

"Frank Gibeau, president of EA’s Games Label added, "EA has struck an agreement with Microsoft to handle future publishing for Mass Effect. We are looking forward to releasing Mass Effect on the PC this Spring and brand new titles in the future."

EA wouldn't have had to strike a deal over publishing rights if MS didn't have those rights to begin with.

Yup, the GeOW I.P is 100% Epic owned, Microsoft just has publishing rights to (rumored by N'gai Croal, don't any of you guys dare hold me to this) 2 games in the franchise, we'll have to see what happens with GeOW 3. The funny thing about GeOW3 are the discrete implications within Sony interviews, if N'Gai was right, MS best keep those rights locked in.... the possibility of losing both Mass Effect and GeOW would be devastating for their momentum.
