What do you think video game consoles and video games itself will be like 5-10 years from now. Personally i think the graphics are going to look more realisitic and video game consoles will be more virtual than ever.

Whoa, don't go out on a limb there. Better graphics? No way!
My consoles and the fates they suffered:
Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)
A more detailed history appears on my profile.

10th generation consoles will utilize streamed data from regional server farms.
You buy a receiver (basically a high end ultraband modem) with controller ports and a HDD. You log into your account and the select either a per play service or buy a license to play a title. Select the game you want and it's run on those regional servers.
This creates a very highly attractive business model for publishers since retail is gone (no more limited shelf space/life) and removes all modern day piracy issues.
It also makes it much cheaper to own a very high powered "console" since you just buy the receiver and controller. Software is cheaper too with no retail and distribution costs or retailer profit margin.
It's basically Folding@Home for games.

That would work for some games, like point and click type games, but the latency would be make gameplay horrible in most action games.

You're thinking to todays terms, not 10 generation.
PC game developers are already contemplating this idea.
Badnwidth across OCS-3072 in 12-15 years will make current OCS-192 move like snails.
Latency isn't an issue for many of todays games even with our curent online model and truth be told, it sucks. Actually the switching routers suck (major bottleneck) but all will be replaced with new tech already developed by then.

This thread is so full of win, anyway don't be insulted by our sense of humor Snake612, it's just after discussing the bandwidth the pipeline between the emotion engine and the graphics synthesizer of a PS2 and hearing a post saying "Games will look and play better in the future" We tend to LOL too much.
