Metal Gear Solid 4 Preorders

Through May 22, 2008 total preorders for Metal Gear Solid 4 in Japan are at 165,000 units. That number includes the version listed as the ‘special edition’ as well as the version listed as the ‘limited edition’. With roughly three weeks left to order the game in Japan, the preorder number should increase at least another 10-15%.

That means ONLY around a 200K opening ---- DISAPPOINTING!

Preorders for the game in the Americas were at 300,000+ through late April when Vgchartz last asked for information on the game, and we estimate preorders are at over 400,000 units to date.

So if the 10 - 15% is true here as well we could get 440K opening --- DISAPPOINTING

So will MGS4 disappoint us in sales....these numbers have come as a shock, I first though NA numbers were very good but after a little thought even they look unimpressive

Yeah, atleast MGS4 should have bigger opening then DMC4 or Yakuza. We will have to wait and see because there are still 3 weeks left and % can increase alot with hype.

165k preorders 3 weeks before the game releases is good. It is not like 90% of the people who buys the game preorders it.

 You know I just realized Snake reminds me of Chef Sakai.

MGS does sell nicely but GTA it is not.

Oh well - I wish I would get it but I probably wont, a distaste is begining to grow in my mouth for Kojima.

 Lol are you for real? MGS is not the biggest series in Japan but alot more popular then DMC for sure.
