whatever...it stinks.

Haha,  gotta love fanboys

Yes, magnifico, the 360's sales figures were lowered. This means that you have been wrong every time you bitched about VGchartz unertracking the 360, they have infact been overtracking it a tad.

NPD adjustements I assume.

lol what? Why would ioi adjust for NPD when he has publicly stated he thinks their numbers for April are at odds with everything he has observed?

I dunno. Maybe, because comparing your work to others and then fine tuning yours, is the smart thing to do.
Especially, when that someone else has more data to go on. Just a thought.

Adjustments are indeed a smart, I never said they weren't or even implied it. But that doesn't mean you make adjustments to your data based on something you think is wrong.

He thinks the NPD numbers are wrong in the sense that NPD seems to have deliberately low-balled the numbers for PS360 in April (thereby making up for past errors instead of adjusting their old data), but they aren't that wrong that they cannot be used as an indication that VGC in turn might have been overtracking lately. So the idea here is that the truth probably lies in between.

@scottie

My overall point is that we don't know why he adjusted it, as I said there are plenty of sources of info. Not the least of which is info directly from Nintendo, I won't go into that beyond saying VGC does have contacts at Nintendo as well as other companies in the industry, and I won't go into it because beyond that I would be speculating.

With multiple sources of information there is a lot more to it than just adjusting based on NPD. The best analogy I can think of is that it would be like trying to blame a single rain drop for the flood. Its just part of what goes into determining what adjustments need to be made.
