Not having co op grand prix, free for all battles, and Double Dash graphics are the only thing I don't really like about it. My brother says its not as fun as DD because there's no point to different characters if there is no specials/ different karts.

Nintendo still doomed?

I always thought it was the opposite way around. for the first 3 (not a joke)
Just a question, why do people who haven't even played the game complain here? It's pretty obvious who haven't. If you tried to stealth troll, well, you better not have a miner-helmet on your head

You're so right! The world is so biased against Nintendo! Those reviewers just hate those guys!
MKWii using the wii wheel has to be the most pure gaming fun I have had in years. Nothing else matters, reviews or other peoples opinions.

No, reality is biased pro Nintendo, but reviewers live in an alternate universe, in which the bias is against Nintendo. Quite simply actually.
Now, if you want a more advanced theory, go through my post history and find my genuine conspiracy theory on why Obama benefits from Wii Fit, and owns Nintendo secretly.

Well I haven't played the game, but I have played most of the other MK games, and I still think some of the review points are bunk. I often got slammed while in first in past games. What made the reviewers suddenly notice it now?
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Well, in my mind it is OK to say good things about a game without playing it, as you have seen some videos and stuff, and have played the earlier installments, but complaining without having played it isn't acceptable.
Saying something along the lines off "Because it wasn't awesome, end of discussion" (I'm against framing single persons when several said something, so I do not directly quote) adds nothing to the thread, and also changes the subject into something else.
And wait, it didn't add a lot? Well, not the way I see it.
1. Awesome online play. For me, it's the best online experience ever, but I haven't played much other than Halo 3 and WoW on other consoles than Wii.
2. No snaking. You say it shouldn't have been in the first place? Well, maybe not, but this does make it totally different from DD.
3. Bikes and wheelies. If you drive a bike, it's a whole different game. Wheelie as much as you can, don't get hit, and you have to time differently. Drive a kart? You have to drive aggressive, slamming into "wheeliers" to get them off. A big change.
4. Tricks in the air. This may not appear to make a big difference at once, but it does. It adds a whole new deepness to the game.
Those are 4 of the 5 major, I've forgotten the last. There are also heaps of small improvements that you complainers haven't noticed, as reviewers in general ignored them. Teams, holding item + new item, better items, pre damaging controlling for better items, shortcuts, timing slides, and a lot more which I have yet to find (or have forgotten).
The game is AAA, Amazing, Addicting, Awesome.
