@mrstickball
because RES 2 would kill and overshadow it merely due to brand name
RES 1 sold 3 million.....did KZ1 even cross a million?
so its not to do with quality....

casue R2 is developed by Insomniac(an indeopendent dev team) so they wouldn't like it if Sony made them delay their game in favour of KZ2,,,on the other hand Gurilla is owned by sony and sony can do whatever they want with the title.
@darthdevidem
I think KZ1 sold more than 2 million on PS2(I could be wrong though)
@darth
that;s because it had some texture and framerate and tehcnical issues (and lots of hype behind it)so critically it got average score of 7.3,,,that's why people regard it as failure(not delivering the hype)

Wasn't its biggest failure the fact it was on rails? You always had a trench and a path you had to follow... I didn't mind the framerate issues and I liked the game but I thought that was the most annoying thing about it.
@spartan
right.....I thought it actually bombed as well..lol
but still RES is a very recognizable brand now....I see it in school n stuff...killzone doesn't have that
Well... the engine seems decent.
But god is the art direction so bland that I really can't care.

I think the answer is in the question.
