Forums - Gaming - Game Informer Is Pretty Damn Stupid

Viper1 said:
One of my staff a while back wrote a great article against Game Informer. Really exposed them for being anti-Nintendo.

More to the point, it discovered that Game Informer suggests their readers are anti-Nintendo and they play to that with their reviews, previews, etc...

Dude are you that stupid they do that every month on every game not just wii ones ... BTW they gave SSBB game of the month and i have seen other wii games of the months such as Mario dont say they are wii haters just face it most wii games are crap i mean i have a wii a bought it for 4 games basicly nothing else  seems that great ...

@Dtewi.

Oh well. 5 years ago was quite a while back anyway.

@Everstar.

Perhaps you missed the great fun they had when Jeremy Zoss was busted for intentionally writing a scathing review on Paper Mario TTYD because that's how GI wanted himto write to so it would appeal to their readers more than a good Paper Mario TTYD review would.

Now obviously they can't rail on everything Nintendo does because the bias would be overly blatant.

Sorry, I have a policy of not proliferating my own site links without valid consent from the owner. I'm sure you can find it with a Google search.

To be frank, almost ALL of the major video game media outlets, online and print, are either biased against something or favor a leading financier.

There are very few journalistic integrity watch groups for the video game media industry and they've taken serious advantage of that; the media and publishers.

Then give us the name of the site. You haven't even told us that.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Glad that I never read it;

Game Informer makes puppies cry.

I remember last year when they gave Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Call of Duty 4 the same score 9.75. Maybe you could argue that hey they were good games they deserve it. Well it was the October issue which I received in September meaning they wrote the reviews in August. Hah if they had actually played even 1 of those games I would be surprised. They review based on hype, and probably don't even have a Wii in their office.

Print is so dead

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

While it's true that the only reason I have a subscription that Game Informer is because it came with my Edge card, and while it's equally true that their reviews in general are all kind of "meh", it can not be denied that they brought us the exclusive on Guitar Hero IV. For that alone, much is forgiven...

VGC is full of pro-nintendo fanboys... so your forum mention at the end doesn't help you.... and besides, those things are true!! Don't you think they might've actually liked the switching mechanic? Maybe they just think that wii fit won't be super-duper friggin' helpful??? And the shovelware article is true.... And the halo designer article was only a fantasy "what if" article.
Maybe you should must calm down, and try to think past the damn nintendo brainwashing for a second.
EDIT: i do think however, that EGM, and nintendo power are steaming piles o' sh**.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

yah there biased against the wii because they don't think every other wii game is great lets forget that they gave

zelda tp-10
Mario Galaxy- 9.75
Super Paper Mario- 9.5
Metroid Prime 3- 9.5
SSBB- 9.5

and gave a higher scores to pro evolution soccer wii for its controls

also what wii games should they cover the system has no big news to get excited about literally nothing except for nintendo games and nintendo doesn't do a lot of those hands on and screen shot release stuff, especially in NA.

and guitar hero on there cover this month is multiplatform including wii

 And the clearly incorrect Mario Kart Wii info you explain how? Did they just accidentally put 12 classic and 12 new tracks rather than 16 of each? A typo I could understand, kinda. An accident while entering the data is easily explained. But to list the tracks wrong twice and use the same wrong number both times confuses me. Someone really should have caught that. There may not be a Nintendo bias, but there is a half-assing it issue.
