Like what they did in R6v2. To me that would be a sure fire buy, take a picture of my cat being lazy and have my ragdoll things beat it up.

 rendering in 3-D for a 2-D platformer would seem.... pointless.

LBP is not Sony Smash Bros. in any way.

not the overrated FF7, I said that because FF7 is definetely recognized as PS game, more so than any other FF

As for not wanting Original IP's...I don't see why hoping THIS game will have characters and will mimic favorite destinations from franchises key to Playstation's success is being a ZOMG HUGE FANBOY.

A smash bros experience (of nostalgia) is what I feel is needed & if devs join together for LBP we may see some cool things

this gen we have seen many new IP's on PS3....there is originality, and I encourage it even more..

They got snake in because Kojima ASKED to have snake in because he loved Smash Bros. "Begged" was the way id was described actually.

He was a huge fan of the first game, wanted snake in the second... but the second game was already too far along so they got plans for the third.

They got Sonic too... though my guess Sonic was part of the deal for the "Mario & Sonic Olympic Games" deal.

Your more likely to see LBP levels for games that release AFTER LBP. Where the levels can work as "ingame ads"

Or at least that is the way I would package it, level based on the game coming out, with a sign in the back that says "Comes out 8/02/09." with some shots of what the real characters look like in the backround as well.

They are far from having no mascots. They have the best mascots, Patapons and LocoRocos. They are so much cooler, and original, then a plumber.

I get the feeling that alot of people that responded to this didn't actually read what he said. He is not saying that LBP will be a similar genre to SSBB, or that it will have similar success to SSBB. All he is saying, is that perhaps Sony will take this as an opportunity to use mascots or levels from past or upcoming Sony and 3rd party PS3 games. Seriously some of these responses are either due to not reading the OP or mindblowingly stupidity. Take your pick, but personally I'd blame it on not reading the OP.

 I don't think you quite understand the term mascot.

Crash was their Mascot, and that was about it.  Now Sony doesn't have one.

LBP will be great, it looks really cool and original, if sony get it right it can sell really well, as for the comments saying sony have no mascots, what are u on about, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Snake, need i go on......

Because Naughty Dog sold the rights i guess.As far as LBP is concerned;the game is too good and appealing to fail,just look at the videos yourselves. I sense a new killer app approaching.
