Forums - Gaming - Quick Question

What I'm trying to do is find out what/how many consoles (not handhelds) were made by each company.

My question is what "mainstream" consoles were made by Sega and Atari?

So far for Sega I have: Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast

For Atari I know the: 2800, 5200, 7800, Jaguar

I was wondering which ones i missed. If you know any please help. I wasn't around back then so i don't know all about past consoles.

I'm thinking that you got them all except for the two Genesis add-ons. They were Sega CD and the 32x.

all right, thanks man. I wasn't sure which ones were the actual consoles, and which were add-ons.

Are you counting handhelds, and stuff like the 32x, sega CD?

EDIT: beat to my question lol.  The 32x/Sega CD were add-ons, but there were games released specifically for them.  Even some CD 32x games that needed both.

Sega consoles - SG-1000 / Master System / Genesis / Sega-CD / 32X / Saturn / Dreamcast

Sega handhelds - Game Gear / Nomad

Atari consoles - 2600 / 5200 / 7800 / Jaguar

Atari handhelds - Lynx / Lynx 2

*EDIT* Diden't see the part about no handhelds, oh well knowledge is power.

I didn't know that part of it, thanks.

No problem. Tough to find the add-ons or the games for them. Probably worth some money. The 32x version of Doom was very good for its time.

Try Wikipedia. It has a pretty extensive historical record of consoles.

Wasn't the 32x version of doom pretty awful?  I remember the snes version had more levels and better audio, but looked a little worse.  Granted both pailed in comparison to the PC version.

I think all have been named ;P
