...how fun and quality the game is now?

Every best game ever list is always actually a "most influential" list.

Come on, Super Mario Bros. is not the best game ever. Most influential? Sure. But it's a best game ever list, and I don't think games like SMB, Tetris, SM64 and OoT belong at the top of those lists just because they were very influential.

So yeah...I would like it if a site actually made a best game ever list actually based on how good the games are now, not just how influential they are.

same here, but it isn't fair to grade a 8-year-old multiplayer game by the community it has now.

Why don't you decide for yourself what games are the most fun, rather than relying on someone else's opinion which is highly likely to differ from yours.

"Fun" is entirely opinion. The only way to review something is based on their impact on the industry, the quality of the components, and whether things were or were not well executed. Those things can be judged with a semblance of subjectivity.

Fun, on the other hand, cannot. It's completely personal. Besides, if this medium is to move forward, "fun" shouldn't necessarily apply to every game. It's certainly an important component in some titles but others might strive for something different.

SMB is also the most fun. It was the most fun when it came out. Maybe that is... WHY it was the most influential? Maybe?

Well, such a list would CONSTANTLY change, and "fun" is a really relative and personal thing. Some people might find a game like Tetris tremendously fun, while others think it's the single most boring game ever created..

Listing games on how influential they are is completely pointless, nobody agrees with reviews, so why would they agree on a list determined on how influential they are. Who is going to agree on the order

 I don't mind if the list is constantly changing.

But I won't mind the lists, as long as they are called "most influential" and not "Best games".
