"Fun" is entirely opinion. The only way to review something is based on their impact on the industry, the quality of the components, and whether things were or were not well executed. Those things can be judged with a semblance of subjectivity.
Fun, on the other hand, cannot. It's completely personal. Besides, if this medium is to move forward, "fun" shouldn't necessarily apply to every game. It's certainly an important component in some titles but others might strive for something different.
