One more review below 96% and GTAIV has had it, Ocarina of time will reclain its rightful spot on top.

and oooooooh yea of course, only Sony fanboys like FFVII more than VI.. then the Famitsu readers must be Sony fanboys too.. and the GameFAQs members.. and GameSpot.... get the hell out of here man..

Rock on is right, the less reviews you have, the more you have only the big-site and big magazine reviews that wont be far off from each other in their high scores, but when you get more reviews, you get more and more strange sites and more bias and reviewers who give strange low scores too great games..

Who really cares, honestly? Does a 10+ year-old game being number #1 really matter?
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Well that's pretty useless as the majority of games never get 50 reviews. 20 is the accepted standard on gamerankings because it includes all games but the odd shovelware title from the past 10 years or so.

The reason you create aggregate reviews is to attempt to pull out personal bias andget at the "real" review score of a game. The larger the number of reviews the greater the accuracy and thus the closer you come to its real value. For those following at home this is a basic limit. The difference between 32 and 50 in that setting is absolutely minimal. Mathematically speaking, you will not see a very large change in the number with the difference being so (relatively) small. He is not right at all.

I think I have to somewhat agree with this even though I don't think GTAIV is the "greatest" game of all time.
You can't MEANINGFULLY compare scores of a modern game to an ancient game. Shit changes. The # of reviewers, the types of games, and the review methods. It's not meaningful to base the "greatest" game of all time based off 32 reviews.
(But with that said, I still don't think GTAIV is worthy of greatest game of all time either)

Not to mention rock_on seems to have it in for Nintendo, based on other threads.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
