Some of them want to boycott the game...

We should figure out a way to prevent them from ever buying the game...so that when they realize they're idiots and Brawl is still the greatest Smash game to date, they'll be sorry they doubted Sakurai.

I agree that some people are going nuts over this, with the supposed "boycott," but you have to admit its sort of lame if Zamus is anything more than a throw-away character. To have a full-fledged seperate character with a fully unique moveset, balanced with the other characters, who is only accessable through these special circumstances, is a waste.

But I'm surprised that so many players are pissed that they can't see Zero Suit Samus without items on. You guys that play without items realize you're missing a lot of the fun? To item-less players: You've always been missing a lot more than Zero Suit Samus, a weaker version of the same character...so I don't see the big complaint. I guess they just wanted the free "fan service" o.0

I completely agree. It's like this ONE thing passing up people who don't play with items bothers them NOW? What are they complaining about... it's their choice to play without items, this is something for those of us who do. I'm not saying it's the wrong way to play, but don't complain about not getting 1 part of the game, when you have been missing giant chunks of the game since SSB on N64. Of course if you play without items you are gonna miss out on some things, and you should have been expecting that.

There is still a good chance anyway that you can select ZSS from the character select screen by holding a button and play has her alone. I'm not sure you get the suit back when you die either Ben, it may be a permanent change after using the Final Smash.

Anyway, I just think it's pretty scary that all these "hadcore" smash players are acting like Sakurai just murdered their families...

Ugh, reading Smash Boards hurts my brain...there's seriously too many "expert Smashers" there. And there's WAY too much accepted speculation, like online play in the game.

They talk about how online play will work, like perhaps it's unlocked after you get all the characters, so that way you don't get spoilers, stuff like that. Even though online has never been officially confirmed. And they don't accept items at all...which is lame.

It's no wonder people like that get pissed when Zero Suit Samus is revealed to be only an extension of normal Samus, after she uses her Final Smash move. They speculate and speculate, and build up their expectations too much, only to be constantly disappointed.

I'll just take the updates as they come and be happy.

It's easy for sakurai to include a button code in the selection screen. But is Zero suit samus going to be able to have her own private smash technique? Anyway it's a risk-all smash for suited samus like picachu's electric ball, and everyone have to admit it cannot look cooler than this. That blast is of Kamehameha proportions. It's going to be freakier than Mugen!

I still see no reason why they couldn't just play with ONLY the final smash, especially since it can only be used by each character once per Brawl. It is not that big a deal. It is like the special finishing move from ANY fighting game, only a bit random.

Agreed Galaki, that analogy was bad. Though if they are upset about this, are they annoyed that without items, no one can experience the new range and power of a mushroom?

Let's be perfectly frank. It's his game, and it's being worked on by a team that allegedly logged 10's of thousands of hours into Melee. All the updates have been phenominal to me and have been nice teasers. There's no chance to please everyone, according to that black comedian, that's the secret to failure. Therefore, those people are insane. The game looks awesome, the team sounds amazingly solid, and if Zero Suit Samus is the result of a weapon, well, so be it.

I still may not be so happy if there's no online, but meh.
