Words of Wisdom and Nintendo Fangirl... What were you reading?

"In general, the Melee stages have the same background music as in the last game, but we’ve also prepared some tracks like this."

It was a music update, not necessarily the music for the stage they showed. And I like this music anyway (It was on the third adventure stage I think). Zelda II yea!

I thought that, but listen to the last third of the music. It's exactly the same as Melee's Temple. They wouldn't duplicate music, so what I think he means is "Most past stages we've kept the original music, but some like this we've done a [poor] remix of it".

Pretty much.  I'm not impressed by several of Brawl's musical scores.  The soundtrack of Melee was one of its best features, Brawl has a lot to live up to in this area and I don't feel like some of the tunes we've heard do the game justice.

This I agree with. As I have said before, after Melee, and more recently Galaxy, Brawl's music just isn't that impressive. The arrangements are pretty straightforward (barring any genre adaptation) but the samples kinda... suck. Though, to be fair/ridiculously optimistic, the music might be placeholder for now - After all, Galaxy's music wasn't recorded until a month or so before release.

I still don't understand the mentality of the people complaining about these updates. It’s like they either have anger management issues or suffer from severe cases of hubris. Of course, I don’t understand why people post half of the spam they do in this topic either...

It sounded (to me) like they added music.

Like they kept the N64 music for the old stages they brought to Melee.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

Too bad they didn't update the temple graphically. Look at it comparibly with the new stages, it just doesn't cut the mustard. But, as it being my all time favorite stage, I think I will cut them some slack lol.

Just kiss the tip.

Argh I completely disagree.  I love Brawl's music so far.  It's got great nostalgia factor.  Not to mention unlike Melee you can actually pick what music you listen to.  Melee had a lot of stages with crappy music, so I'm really happy with this feature.

Fox McCloud says ROFL at your idea :)

So far I've been quite happy with the musical arrangements. A few in particular, the Ocarina of time medley is fantastic, Ashley's theme is very well done (I wonder how or where that song will fit in), the main theme is incredibly epic, and Starfox armada is a good is the best version of the starfox theme I've ever heard, and makes me yearn for a new (and good, not like the gamecube starfoxes) Starfox game. I'm incredibly pleased with most of the music.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Ashley's theme is for the Wario Ware stage.

Again, I'm not saying the music is *bad* by any means, just that I know Nintendo could do better. The Great Palace certainly could be done more justice than this, I feel. Of course, that's mainly an arrangement/instrumentation issue, but still, changing up the melody to go with the theme wouldn't have hurt. On the other hand, Meta Knight’s Revenge kicks ass, so it's not like its all bad ('ouch' about the tinny electric guitar, though).

Ah, and Nazatips did point out that you can choose your music for the stage, though, so at least you won't be stuck with any songs you don't like (if any).
