Great update.
Louie: He still has the fireballs.
I would guess this means the vacuum is fair game too. Good to further differentiate Mario and Luigi.
A special move which does no damage! Will be a lot of fun to use.
Also, anyone notice this?
That DK stage is loaded with cool stuff.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
These kind of games with so many characters can have some massive imbalances. Does anyone know if the Wii can update games before people start playing them? And what is the built in memory?
Most combat games can be imbalanced when one character is too strong. Minor tweaks will be needed when lots of people start playing and find out these issues. I play Dota on my computer and they release an update like every month. So is the Wii capable of doing updates to games?
Melee was pretty unbalanced as far as extremely high-level tournament play is concerned, but with normal play-for-fun games you can win with any character. A lot of people always choose a random character for shits and giggles anyway.
I'm one of the best Melee players in my town, and my favorite character is Mr. Game & Watch. Don't ask why, but I just play better with him than any other character. These things are weird sometimes. =P
For the most part, if you're good, you can beat people with any character. I suppose tournaments are a different story, but those don't matter to the majority of Smash players.
I do hope they take Fox down a notch, since he was a bastard in Melee...and perhaps Samus down too...since I completely own with Samus haha.
But it was fairly balanced, Astrodust, what makes you think the developers of Melee and Brawl won't get it right? They make pretty character models and cool stages and items and such, but what they're also doing every day is playing the game and working out balance issues.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
OH, forgot to mention. FLUDD Mario pretty much confirms that Luigi will be using his Poltergust 3000 in Brawl.

I suppose I've played some competitive games and they usually are always tweaked to some degree. It's not until thousands of people start playing it that they discover certain characters are overpowered. And when you throw this many characters in a game, some will be too weak or others too strong. I'm assuming the Wii can make sure people have the latest updates before people start playing. I know my Gears of War game has had more than 5 updates since I've had it. In the beginning the chainsaw was so cheap. It was too easy to pull off and you were invulnerable when you were killing someone.
Neat stage. Why does he not show everything. He missed one part of the stage.
Need people to play online with me for Brawl.
