Forums - Nintendo - Super Smash Bros. Brawl Official Updates

Nice, ladders. Thats something new to smash series. I guess the ladders are there for reaching places that you wouldn't reach by normal jumps and b up (otherwise they would be obsolete) as you can see the ladder that mario is climbing you cant see where it finish, so maybe to get to the next part you need to climb it. I guess you can climb ladders by pressing up the stick (or the pad in the case of the wii remote). I know that if you press up you would jump, but maybe if you are under the ladder you will start climbing it instead of jumping. Mmmh or the A button may work too.

This stage is gonna be fun, trying to go up while preventing others from getting up nets you an automate win... I can't see why anyone would complain.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

Trust me...plenty complain hehe.

My friends always die on moving levels like this...they often can't keep up, or they jump offscreen before they should and die, etc...it's amusing...but not as fun cause they definitely don't put up a fight...maybe they'll learn.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Maybe the plane sweeps the players and transports them to the higher structure. I hope the scrolling will be reasonable enough. It's nice to see that Nintendo is aknowleging what a great and fun game Jungle Beat was.

"You won't find Adobe here in Nairobi"

I am not a big fan of moving levels, especially the F-Zero one. However, this one looks just a tad more interesting.

There are still tons of moves to reveal, along with alternate costumes and other stuff, so I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises in the game even after the next 95 daily updates (with the 95th being on Dec 3).

And my impression of the last screenshot is that there are moving, probably swaying platforms at the top of those beanstalks, and you have to hitch a ride on that plane to get to them. I doubt that there's anything inherently special about the platforms, other than probably being a pain to stay on, heh heh.

So the main villain in Smash Bros. is called Master Hand? Seriously?

He kinda looks like that really obscenely annoying announcer hat guy from Mario Party...

Where have you been for like a ...decade? It's a big hand that tries to slap you, grab you, shoot rockets at you for some reason, etc... Considering all the Smash characters have been dolls or trophies, a big giant hand controlling everything was a cool final boss...

I never owned the original Smash Bros. and I own the GC version but never actually played the game in single player and beat it.  I really don't dig this game as much as Zelda or Mario but it appears to be more popular than both for some reason that is beyond me...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Hopefully this stage doesn't jerk back and forth like the Ice Climbers old stage, but just goes slowly all the way to the top and then back down.

I <3 the Rainbow Cruise stage, but hate the Ice Climber's stage.

Edit: And I hope the other DK stage(s) is somewhere other than the jungle. An old-school girder level or an environment from the DKC games would be nice. I don't have the original Smash, but all the DK stages in Melee were in the jungle, including the N64 stage.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

I just got the next issue of Nintendo Power, and it has an article about SSBB. A small part talks about Zero Suit Samus.

The exact quote is
"We know that Zero Suit Samus will emerge from her classic power suit at some point in the game, but are she and the standard Samus two forms within the same character?"

Unless they are talking about the story mode, it seems that Nintendo Power thinks that Zero Suit Samus will be a selectable character; Or at least they are pondering the possibility. This doesn't come close to making anything official, so don't get your hopes up. I just thought it might be interesting to someone.

Anyone read this in a different way?

Looks to me like they just hadn't read last week's updates before writing that, or possible read them and didn't understand. =/
