Anyway, great sales for Sony: PS3 up 128% YoY!!!
I'm sure that will be in Sony's press release, anyway.
2.85 mil + say 2.5 mil = 5.35 mil. give another 10, 15% retailer's stock 6 million is pretty much right on.
the Wii is an epidemic.
Those hardware numbers are insane, Wii outsells the Sony family + Xbox 360 combined. And to add insult to injury it does in the month GTA IV is released!
Looking at it from a different perspective, those sales are probably not that much different than last year for 360 and still a rise for the PS3. And compared to last month the weekly sales are not that far down (around 10%?), but when selling almost 3 million copies of GTA IV it doesn't make sense to see sales go down...
Nintendo dumped so many of the @$#@% Wii consoles the Sunday before GTAIV came out that no one had cash left to purchase anything but software.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Perfectly logical, 4 weeks as opposed to 5 weeks.

I know, it just seems too crazy to imagine that the NPD numbers are true. And how could MK:wii outsell GTA4 on the PS3, i never saw stores with over 500 copies of MK and people waiting in line to get that game. Stores never even had enough copies to cover the sales of GTA4 on launch.
