Forums - Gaming - Local Gamestop manager suprised by so many customers loving Shadowrun.

The manager said many are happy with Forza 2 and along with plenty of preorders, Forza 2 has sold well.

Although less were sold than Forza 2, customers are loving Shadowrun, and telling their friends about it. He hasn't seen people so excited about a game in a long time that hardly anyone talked about before.

Thats great... I guess. Now, if only that local gamestop was the representation of the entire US....

Yea but you have to admit it wouldn't take much to surprise a manager of a computer game store.....they're about neck and neck with mcdonalds and dixons staff for brightness!

And I'm not being insulting, it's just a general observation

When it comes to things console gaming related, he is pretty knowledgable and aware of stuff. Although that is his job, so he should be smart about those things.

He mentioned he gets asked what games to buy all the time. Because some loyal customers are happy, he feels ok to recommend Shadowrun.

I think it's cool to have good word of mouth for a game that has gotten little to no advertising. The only thing I've heard about Shadowrun is that it's the first game to integrate PC Vs Console ........................ no positive reviews or anything. I'm not even sure what the game looks like!

I'm going to summarize what 360 users have been posting on the forum

1) It's a fun game
2) They feel it's half finished

A lot of reviews bashed the game for the lack of content, and it's true only 9 maps and 3 game modes for an online game is ridiculous and a slap to the face to the customers. But apparently the game is well balanced and lot of fun, some are comparing it to CounterStrike.

After reading the forum I'm going to download the demo (think it comes out the 6th). Maybe if I see it on sale somewhere i'll even pick it up. I Wouldn't spend more then $39 unless more content is release soon for free.

Shadowrun - winner of the "best half-finsihed game" award. :)

From the reviews over @ NeoGAF, its a great game. Definately not something Id really play alot of.

IMO, it looks like it should be a budget title. It'd probably do well then.

Who knows, the game could do 250k in the US.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Interested to see how this sells.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Yeah my best friend has Shadowrun, game seems like a lot fun. Also seems to be executed well, but it should have been a $30 title and not a $60 one. Any downloadable content for the game should be free IMO. I would have rather seen a Shadowrun game that was more like Mass Effect or Too Human in design, but that is another post altogether
