Forums - Gaming - Do you remember this game?

Anyone remember a game called Flashback: The Quest for Identity? I had the SNES version of the game. It was developed by a studio called Delphine Software in 1992, 16 years ago.

If anyone has the chance, play this game. It has great graphics... the game features fully hand-drawn backdrops, and the player character animation is rotoscoped, giving his movements a fluidity unusual for its time... it's an unual technique used in videogames (classic Prince of Persia uses rotoscoped animation).

Those were good times

I remember Flashback, I had it for the Megadrive, and replayed an emulated version of it last year. It is one of my favourite games of that generation in fact. The rotoscoped graphics were pretty state of the art at the time. The sci fi storyline was also quite compelling. The PS1 sequel - Fade to Black was a huge letdown.

i have the pc version.
The creator of this game tell that want do a game for the wii.

i never owned it but i'd always play it on the megadrive kiosk in Big W when i went shopping with the family. since i only played it there i never really knew what it was about. heck i didnt even know what it was called until now when i recognised the graphics. i just knew it was fun.

Yeah we remember this one. We play video games around here ya know. Who do you take us for? Go for a more obscure one next time if you would please.

I give you credit though for giving us a flashback of Flashback :P

Yep, I still have the original floppy discs of this game as well. Too bad I can't play it since none of the newer laptops have proper disc drives anymore. :/

Has anyone played the beta rom of Flashback Legends? Apparently it was a sequel of Flashback made for the GBA that was cancelled when Delphine went bankrupt.

I disliked that game.  I got bored quickly every time I played it.
