Come on Microsoft, that was a pretty desperate attempt to spin the statistics.

Yeah... I'm just implying that the spinning is coming off as desperate to me. Normally it isn't hard for a "fan" to get behind the spin and argue for it.
But even the most ardent 360 fan couldn't look at this spin without being a bit embarassed.

Can we just please forget this news and not blow it out of proportion? Statements like these are embarrassing for us X360 fans, but maybe this Don Mattrick (a senior vice president out of many) is just a small and insignificant employee in the corporation (and dumb too).

What I'm more interested in is the gold/silver split.
So what do you win if your prefered console sells more than another?
I've been saying it for a while. Microsoft is getting desperate.
History has shown us that press releases right before NPD can only mean bad news ahead.

Lol... the media is starting to catch on:

To Microsoft (MSFT) Xbox Goes The Victory Wreath
Microsoft (MSFT) claims that its Xbox 360 has reached the sale of ten million units in the US ahead of the Nintendo Wii and Sony (SNE) PS3.
The news is somewhat, if not entirely hollow, PR without substance or justification.
As Reuters points out "The Xbox 360 was the first of this latest generation of game machines to launch in the United States when it was released in November 2005. The PS3 and Wii were launched in the United States a year later."
Although the Wii has been in the market for a much shorter time, it has sold almost nine million units.
The people at the device division of Microsoft must not have enough to do.

Maybe, but this is what the MASSES will be seeing on their homepages, news sites, aol, and MSNBC... Pretty effective "spin", as transparent as it may be.
