Xbox 360 reaches 10 million U.S. sales before Wii or PS3

 

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday its Xbox 360 game machine beat Nintendo Co Ltd's Wii and Sony Corp's PlayStation 3 to reach 10 million units in U.S. sales.

"History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle," Don Mattrick, a Microsoft senior vice president who heads the company's Xbox business, said in a statement.

Wow! I had no idea how much better the 360 was doing than the Wii! Golly, it goes against all common sense eh?

Is it me, or is this starting to seem desperate?

There's this and then the crowing about 60% of GTAIV sales when they have 70% of the consoles out there?

Okay, we know they spin the numbers, but you just spun the numbers at the end. Two spins don't make a truth.

Microsoft may not be in the dominant position, but they are doing better than they would have been.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

 I just used the vgchartz America console totals.  MS has 70% - 30% advantage of the consoles in the US, and they're touting the fact that they are selling 60% over 40% of GTAIV sales.

Isn't that just fact?  Correct me where I'm wrong.

it JUST reached 10 million???? Somehow we have it to close to 11.7 million. Don't tell me it sold 1.7 million units in Canada. (close to 20% of US number)

Ok guys... We can just pack our bags and go home... X360 got there earlier... Nope, nothing we can do against it... It's over now! Sjeesh, how stupid was I. Thinking we could get there earlier then Microsoft's machine that had a year headstart! Damn... Jep, pack our bags it is!

I thought you were trying to imply a worse situation due to those numbers. If you were just illustrating the spin through those, I have no issue.
