Forums - Nintendo - VGC: Convince Me to Buy Lost Winds WiiWare

You've done it before, now do it again.

I've looked at videos of Lost Winds and the art style/graphics are very pleasing to my eyes for a downloadable title. I've heard it is pretty short (circa 3 hours), but it's cheap (only 1000 points) and something new and fresh for Nintendo.

Anyone buy this title and can give me their honest opinion? Exactly what kind of game is this? What would you compare it to?

Make me buy this game!

It's a better value than Heavenly Sword. $10 for 2-3 hours, or $60 for 6 hours.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

It's fantastic, 3 hours isn't accurate either. It CAN be beaten in 3 hours, but I've got about 4 and a half hours logged and still haven't beat it. If you never get lost (you will), and never bother messing around with stuff (you'd better), then it's 3 hours. Even IGN in their latest podcast says that it's 3 hours if you're just speed running it the first time. It would also seem there are a 24 hidden statues, I don't know if you NEED to get them by the end of the game, or if it's just a bonus if you do find them all, but if it's not required then it's another reason to take some time to explore.

The art is incredible, the music is serene and perfectly fitting, the gameplay is intelligent and fun, there is no reason you shouldn't buy this game if you have a wii connected to the internet. It's as simple as that.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Not true Heavenly Swords last boss took me an hour to kill, so it's really

$60 for 5 hours =D

I don't know I didn't get it yet.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Bad comparison, I don't have a PS3 yet.

THIS is more along the lines of what I'm looking for. Thank you, vagabond!

This might do it ...

It's 3 hours for 10 bucks. I absolutely loved the game. I've finished the whole thing and can't wait for the sequel. Basically, its a relaxing, fun game. Everything from the music to the art style is beautiful. It works in a Zelda-ish way in which you get different abilities as you go on which allow you to access parts of the game you couldn't get to before. The game consists of getting 4 Chests and then 1 final boss. For 10 dollars, I'm happy with my purchase.

I look at it like this. It's very small adventure game for very small price. It's also a very good adventure game. Which is good for me since I find myself with less free time these days but I still like adventure games. And because it's short there really doesn't feel like there's any padding. There is back tracking, but the game map is so small it really isn't an issue.

Lost Winds has a simple unobtrusive familiar story, and plays out like a prologue to a bigger adventure. (The creators have already mentioned a sequel.) You've got nice soothing music, clever environmental puzzles, and enjoyable colorful visuals. I found it worth it. It was short but it was also fun and well designed.
