Forums - Sales - EA got more sales last quarter from the PS3 than the 360

Well, I just want this year's NCAA Football to not suck on the PS3.

Good to see that EA (albeit a shitty company) are selling a lot of software on the PS3 anyway. I hope it encourages them not to make crappy ports anymore as that does nothing but hurt game-sales!

I never knew Peter Moore said he loves the PS3... Thats just so unexpected lol

yeah

Does anyone feel like making a list of games from EA in 2007 that were on the PS3 but not the 360, and vice versa? It would give us a much better idea of the situation than just comparing revenues or profits.

Well this also shows EA had more revenue from PSP games in the quarter than DS games, but it is pretty clear the DS is the better platform for third parties in general.

If there was a significant difference or this became a trend then there might be something to shout about. (unless the significant difference was due to a massive PS3 exclusive, but this is EA so that will be rare)

Or maybe it shows that 360 owners had other decent stuff to buy whereas PS3 owners didnt.

I wanted to flame you but I cannot buying games from EA truly is a sign of desperation

the main ea games were burnout paradise and fifa 08, both sold well on PS3 though BP definitely sold better on 360

Notice that only the PS3 and cellular handsets showed an increase in the 4th quarter. Everything else showed a decline from the 3rd quarter.

The PS3 basically had a surge, software-wise, in EA game purchases in the 3rd quarter. Compare trend lines and it's fairly obvious that release-timing is likely to have something to do with this odd surge.

It sure is! I have bought about 20 games for the 360, not one from EA!

I have bought ~10 games for the PS3 and none from EA either. The truth is I would be more tempted to buy from EA if I had a 360 (Mass Effects and Bioshock)

Mass effect and Bioshock? they arent EA are they? I have both of those.... Didnt they just do the PC ports?

Depends on what you define as being EA. Bioware was bought by EA 2007. You could say that most of the development time of Mass Effects was pre-EA though if that makes you feel better.

Edit: I was mistaken Bioshock is 2k games so perhaps it will be EA once/if they takeover Take2 but not yet.
