I like Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It's simple, but isn't really full of itself. Plus I like using the weapons outside of battle. Sort of like an early Wild ARMS.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Evil dead games, you just cant beat Bruce Campbell.

Holy crap! Someone other than me likes this game?!?!

It's the FF game I've completed the most times and I've beaten 4+6 quite a few times. It's so easy to get into and when I stopped playing it for while, I could get right back into it with no problem. I often didn't have a prob with starting an RPG or getting bored with it. It's just that were so many games coming out for SNES at the time and I prefer variety. You have to take break in an RPG at some point, because of their length and so I would, but when I would get back to it, it was always hard to get over the feeling of it being disrupted. After I've finished most RPG's I don't have interest in playing them again, at least not right after I finished them. Early FF games seem to be the exception. At the time, I was tired of RPG engines being so formulamatic. In FF:MQ you didn't have to wander the map, there where battlefields designed specifically  for leveling, and you could use items and weapons out of battle (the grappling claw comes to mind). Not to mention it was a nice blend of action adventure and RPG and the fact that it's not the over-dramatic pretentious mellow drama that a lot of RPG'S are made of. It even pocks fun of itself.

My interest in this game, was probably due to wanting another great strategy adventure game after TLOZ, LOTMysticalNinja and Lagoon, wanting another FF game, and a change in pace in RPG's(It was released at temporary slow point for RPG's, right before they really started taking off) It's upbeat pace, relaxing vibe, and charm was so refreshing compared to the hardcore constant leveling of some RPG's at the time. I'm not saying it's RPG greatness, but it felt like it was worth it's budget price.

Looks like I enjoy 2 games from this list. I could be in serious danger of becoming a bad taste gamer, but how could anyone not like the spiritual  DS sequel to Yoshi's Cookie? I'm not giving up my Gamers Card without a fight.
