Forums - Nintendo - Korean Wii Sales

These are pretty good sales for a country that pretty much exclusively plays Starcraft. My friend is Korean, and when he was Korea, he was the only one of his friends with a Wii. They all had PCs and Starcraft though. It's amazing that they love that game enough that it gets its own channel, and pro players get the chicks.
*Sigh* I wish gamers got the hot girls here too.

I was looking up starcraft sales on wikipedia and it says that 4.5 million of the 9 million copies of starcraft that were sold world wide were sold in Korea. That is pretty ridiculous that a country with population 49 million could account for 50% of a games sales.

So, it looks like Option 2 was the correct one, at least for now.

Some have said that a fair number of Koreans had imported Japanese Wiis before the product officially launched there. So we might never know just how large the Korean userbase really is.
