Forums - Nintendo - Buying UK Wii Points, best deals?

With the up coming WiiWare channel it seemed a good idea to buy some Wii points so,  I've just ordered :

2 x 2000 points card through amazon for £12 each, so £23.96 for 4000 points  (inc. P&P)

Does anyone know of a better deal then this?

I h8 you?

I spent 100 dollars on 10000 points.

=) I doubt I'll spend anymore in a while considering the games I have.

FFCC + all DLC = brain dead on couch doing things - I feel like I'm coked out or something plaything that game... I got physically ill when I had to go to work this morning >.>.

It's like the perfect SIM city, not too complicated and great rewards, and of course a dash of factor x or visual cocaine.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Hehe sounds good Dib8rman, I think I'll have to get it (and risk the sickness). I've got to get Lost Winds and GyroStarr too ;)

How much do Wii points cost in the UK via the Wii Shop Channel? Because in terms of Wii Points for USD, that amazon deal is highway robbery. 23.96 pounds = 46.60 USD=the equivalent of 4660 Wii points straight from the Wii Shop Channel.

My consoles and the fates they suffered:

Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)

france you get the 2000 points card for 19€ on amazon

According to Wiki it's £15 for 2,000 or 70p per 100 online.
Right now the TV is being used so I can't check till later.

Can NTSC guys send you games as a gift? That would be the best deal. European gamers always pay more than they should and that is much worse for UK.

Hell, consdering how much the dollar has devalued in the last year and a half I'm sure for you Europeans going to America is almost like when we go to Mexico or something. I remember when I as in Mozambique a 1000ml bottle of pretty high quality beer at a bar or resuarant cost about $1.50.

It's kind of odd the way the devaluation of the dollar affects the economy. It drives up the prices of gas and food products massively but does nothing to the price of electronics or most consumer goods. The Wii, or say an iPod or an Apple notebook, has a fixed price point so doesn't respond at all to the fickle dollar. Thus for outside observers/puchasers the price shifts massively as they can get more dollars for their currency, to the point where the cost of a Wii is nearly twice as much in the UK as the US. Which is of course the very reason region locking exists - so people can't take too much advantage of out of market price differences.

But now I'm just pontificating aloud.
