I heard Alan Wake and Max Payne had double meanings. I know Alan Wake is suppose to be A.Wake but what is Max Paynes?

Bad news about the delay of Alan wake.

I think they figured it was too similar to Alone in the Dark? lol Well on the bright side, at least its not cancelled, and there are too many other games as it is anyway.

Max Payne is just maximum pain, I think thats it really.

Payne is a homophone of Pain. Therefore Max Payne => Max Pain.

Man... I thought Pain was just a given and there was something else....

 Nah. Both games have some simple wordplay in their protagonists' names, and they both relate to the themes of their respective games (Max Payne's suffering and Alan Wake's insomnia), but that's pretty much it.

i am not shocked. both HD consoles have trouble keeping with deadlines, but people stop bitching bout it cuz at least they am not bringing out a game that is half done coughcough LAIR cough cough

Not to get any hopes up, but this could see an 08 release yet. Perhaps Microsoft is simply giving it's mega-release of 08(obviously Gears 2) it's moment in the sun before it starts bombarding us with Alan Wake. I can see them possibly using E3 as the big reveal for Alan Wake while giving Gears the floor to itself(relatively speaking) until then. The dream, I suppose, would be a Halloween release if they can swing it. This is pure opinion and I obviously know jack squat.

Looks like Microsoft domination continues in 09! (joking).

But seriously if this game came out this year I'd die from hunger.
