It makes perfect sense... Xbox live will be the same from console to console.. so why would they not rollover..??

since you could already retrieve the tag from the xbox its logical to assume the ability to transfer it to microsofts next system. and as everything is connected to the gamertag there should be no issue with achievements and dlc transferring.

You do know the 360's BC is like that for a reason right? It's not like MS could have used the parts from the OG Xbox. They had no choice but to use emulation. Selling the games as a downloadable version was a way for people to play some of the better games that may be hard to find now or they're too lazy to look for.

Some games do intergrate achievement unlocks with gamerpics. Thing is, some games have the same image/avatar for multiple achievements, which could cause issues if it was across the board.

I already have 8200 achievement points on xbox720.

It will probably be something dumb like XBOX Extreme.
Well I guess this confirms Microsoft is going to stay in the game industry. It was pretty predictable that the NextBOX would come out in 2010, but will Sony follow year after again or will they wait a few years?
