Forums - Gaming - Have you been happy with this current generation?

Galaxy, twilight Prinsess, Mario kart, GH3, Wii sports, Lost Odessey, Eternal sonata, Blue Dragon.

pretty good so far but I still wait for some more RPG's especially for the PS3(that's why I bought it, that and blu-ray)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

We've been very, very happy with the Wii releases so far, as it has gotten a ton of playing time and we've bought a ton of games. Mario Kart and Smash are still very new to us, No More Heroes is currently $20 at Circuit City, and we've preordered Wii Fit (finding a site still taking preorders was very difficult).

Normally I don't preorder games, but the balance board makes Wii Fit harder to manufacture than just pressing discs, which is extremely easy, so it will be in short supply for a while I imagine.

For the Xbox 360, we've been less satisfied. There are some cool games on the system, but fewer of them that we both like, and fewer games in general that each of us likes (for example, I like hitman and she doesn't, but she likes Viva Pinata and I don't -- we both sort of like GTA 4, but it's so repetitive and it's neither a good shooter nor a good racer).

We did pick up guitar hero 2 + wired guitar for the xbox 360 for $16 from best buy. That was a good deal considering we paid like $80 for Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii.

Yes I have been extremely happy with this gen,
It might actually be the best one and beat the SNES gen for me, so excited with the games coming out for the wii and been enjoying many VC games. also many excellent wii ware games that I've been wanting.

No. I think this Gen has had too much hype surrounding it.

Wii- Still waiting for the special game that is gonna make me say wow, masterpiece (mario was great though)
PS3_ though i do want one, i can't actually think of a game to buy for it, (not a good sign)
360- Had a few weeks, a little disappointed in it (probably be the same way with the PS3) These groovy HD games aint what they are cracked up to be IMO, (though gears was fun!!)

But With all of that said, i am pretty sure something cool will happen in this gen (hey..!! got to keep hope alive right...Right!!)

This generation has been very good to me. Way better than the last, in my opinion.

- PC gaming is finally cheaper than Console gaming. Computers are cheaper and cheaper than ever, and the PC games have always been cheaper.

- Steam!!! Amazing service, and completely free!

- PC now have the best games out of any platform, and through digital distribution and small/indie devs we are getting innovative/creative games, some of them truly amazing (Audiosurf, Sins of a Solar Empire)

- PC + Wii = zomfgroflcopterbbqsauce

Yes and no, I am happy with Wii as a console and the games Nintendo makes. SMG, SSBB and MKwii bring back the memories of all the fun I had on the N64 and now have online which just adds to the fun.

I have been extremely disappointed by the 3rd party support so far. The only 3rd party game I have bought since launch is No More Heroes. I love Nintendo games, but sometimes I just need a little bit of variety. I have been starved for an RPG for so long now.

Outside of Wii I've lost all interest in vids this gen. I've been gaming since pre-nes arcades and I'm pretty much bored of gamepad games at this point.

With Wii though, this is probably my favorite gen since the the nes days, I think it's eclipsed N64 for me.

I think the best wii games are still farther out that just two years though, it'll probably be another 4 or so until we see some pinacle achievements.

No, because prices have become ridiculously high. As technology improves, price should be kept the same for something better. But it's not happening that way. $600 systems on launch with $60 dollar games, or although it's only a $250 system, buying an extra set of controllers would cost an additional $60 per set also. My biggest complaint is forcing bluray in the PS3 and then charging people a premium even if they do not want to use their PS3 to watch any movies and there aren't too many great games out either.  The PS2 games were great, but nothing in PS3 that's currently released has caught my attention yet.  Delays after delays for final fantasy 13, I'm starting to get impatient.

Currently loving my Wii x2, Xbox 360 Pro & Xbox 360 Arcade, and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Limited "Cloud Black" 160GB PS3

Very much so.

I haven't purchased a console since getting a PSOne nearly a decade ago.

Each console has interested me, but not enough for me to make the investment in a console and games.

That is until I played the Wii. Unfortunately I have more games than time, so I have quite a backlog to play. But I'm re-descovering old games too. I have quite a list of VC games that I want to buy too to catch up to all of those great SNES and N64 games that I never played.

Now Playing: Pikmin, Super Mario Galaxy 2
