I've been thinking of making a thread like this because so much people are god awful at forcing their ideas. They think market is only one. It's not the same as before. The Market isn't limited to one scope.

Call me a dumb*ss if you like but would you consider Wii to be an HD console this gen?

Answer me yes then I can't do single damn thing about you lying through your teeth.

 

Fact:

-Wii has captivated more consumers and is targeted at mass market

-Wii is not an HD console

How do you know they find GTA IV more fun? I'd say that's the same as saying "6Million bought Double Dash and found it more fun than GTA:SA", and if someone said that, you know the follow up.

==> but we are saying the same : all games can be fun

that is why u can't claim : Wii is the "fun" console (suggesting it is the only one)

I prefer say : Wii is the "party games" console : Mariokart, Brawl, and, the day1, WiiSport.

if it was no, then Ds couldn't compete with PSP as well!!

also, it's pretty obvious they all 3 compete, as they target people who like video games, even if they are too old or too young!

The fact that Wii is focused on FUN and not on graphics, attracting more people does not mean it's not competing!!

Are there any other handhelds? Besides Nintendo and Sony's of course...


Wii is a next gen console but not an HD console.

Good read, though you forgot one important thing:

Software.

3rd parties have only limited funds and now have to consider big Wii titles. Money that's put into Wii games can't be used for PS360 investments.
So where 3rd party devs originaly didn't have major investments planned for Wii, now will have to put money into Wii development.

So there Wii is definitely competing with PS360.
