Forums - Gaming - It's official....

I bought EGM en español (Electronic gaming monthly) and after reading it is definitely official...I don't have videogame magazines to read anymore.

Why? because just like many women realize that being on their 20's and reading "seventeen" is just a little out of place, I did find out that videogame journalists are 30+ year old teenagers with said tastes.

Most of these journalists are fanboy gamers that thinks that if a game doesn't lasts 100 hours or had lots of violence or complicated gameplay or a pretentious plot then is a crap.

Not to mention they contradict themselves so many times that I started to lose confidence on them every year.

Also, I am more convinced that "rating" games is stupid (specially since rocket pig's post here).

The rests of the magazines are terrible. Atomix and Gamers are written terribly, Club Nintendo kills my brain cells every 2 pages, Game rush is a Blockbuster brochure! (I am talking about mexican magazines, of course)

I know that many here love to read magazines and that's cool. I just saying what I realized today.

I'll stick with the internet.l No, is not perfect but at least it doesn't cost me 3 dls =P

I stopped reading gaming mags when I was 14. You can find all the news in the mags weeks before you get your issue online. I dont like paying for old news.

Wow there were still some people that read gamemagazines? Wow....

Well, I got a subscription with them free for a full-year so, I can expect EGM rolling in every month until December of this year.

I hate magazines, especially gaming magazines. They get the news late and plus the reviews are bias as crazy. I use the reviews for buying games, but quickly found out that they were just like any other reviewer out there.

So I'm in the same boat like you I think....

same thing with me, I used to read from game magazines to get news but since I have the internet, I could always have up to date news and I could spend the $20 I use for subscription on games or something.

eh the only one i read is gameinformer...they're not that bad

opinions can be purchased.

I never buy game magazines, unless I'm desperate for something to read on the plane and they're out of Sports Illustrated.

I'm the same, I stopped reading magazines years ago. Atomix was the one that made me stop, as it was really poorly written, with lots of errors, they did not respect their readers at all (or other magazines and opinions for that matter), plus the magazine was really anti-Nintendo just because one of their editors worked on the official Nintendo magazine and left them on bad terms.

I can't believe I paid for that for so long.

This is the magazine that game No More Heroes a 6 and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games a 4. They're also the magazine that says things like it looks good for a Wii game and stuff like suprisingly I liked the Wii version and other things that I can't understand because they have Sony and Nicrosofts genitalia in their mouths.
