Forums - Nintendo - Classic games you prefer to see remade on Wiiware than see it on VC

We know there are games that cannot be in a full Wii disk for many reasons, but in Wiiware there are some classic ones returning with a new fresh air. Powered with the wii controls and some online features (besides the obvious jump in graphics). And I didn't found a thread about this (maybe I don't know to search well), so I wanted to know your opinions.

I am talking games that are not

-puzzle games

-non-games or casual ones

-Classic arcade stuff

I am talking about games that were on NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, TG-16, NEO-GEO that were just awesome and you want to see it remade, but when you think about it, it makes more sense on wiiware than actual Wii disc.

 Here are my picks:

  1. Turok - Dinosaur Hunter: This game is just amazing in every aspect, not even the ps360 iteration is as fun as the original one (don't get me wrong, that game was good, but it doesn't really feel like a TUROK game in my opinion). The level design, the soundtrack and sound effects, and the gameplay was just amazing with the N64 controller. It didn't require a deep storyline or character dialogue, it was just simple but just right "get the chronoceptor and stop the campaigner" and the rest is just gameplay awesomeness. I picked this game because a remake with MP3/MoH:H controls, a slight increase in textures and polygons, it can make this baby amazing witin the wiiware size limit (NOTE: the actual rom is just 8MB!... ).
  2. Blast Corps: yes, the N64 game from Rare... If Nintendo can get hold on the franchise, it can make an amazing wiiware game that is just SO addicting you can't stop playing (again... the actual rom: 8MB). Just clear the path for the nuclear cargo truckusing any means necessary... destroying stuff was never so much fun =D
  3. Paperboy: Man, I still play the NES game and I can't stop playing it!! so simple in design and yet so much appealing. it's a challenge everyday you play.
  4. Contra: you all know that 2D is where Contra belongs and C4 proved it. A full disc Contra on any console would suck because the developer has to put a lot of stuff to fill that DVD (we end up with crap features we don't want). But a Wiiware release with the same old school gameplay and difficulty that can make macho men cry like sissies is just awesome.
What are your picks?

I would love to see a multi-player online version of the original Mario Kart on the SNES. I played that forever when I was young and online would be awesome.

SNES-style remakes of Zelda 1 (or at least port that remake that was made), Castlevania II fixing the gameplay issues, and Goonies II.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

CHRONO TRIGGER GODDAMNIT

By life end:

  • Wii- 100 million+
  • Xbox360- 35~40 million
  • PS3- 30 million
  • PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
  • NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical)  - FAILURE
  • NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!

Totally agree with Blast Corps. I would love to see that game remade. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

Star Soldier is already too much for my shriveled heart to handle. 1942 would be nice (there's a PSN/XBLA version).

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

The old Catlevanias! :D
