Forums - Sony - New PS3 owner looking for good games

So I recently acquired a PS3, whose primary use is a Blu-ray player for my new TV, and a Cell programming experimentation box. But of course, I also want to play games for it, so my question to you guys is, what games do you recommend? I already have the following:

Super Stardust HD (kickass game, too)
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (I know I complained about it, but I plan to trade it in after I've finished all the events)
Ratchet and Clank
Burnout Paradise (girlfriend wanted this one)

For reference, the only PS2 games I owned were Gran Turismo 3&4, R-Type Final, Gradius V, and Guitar Hero 1&2. I also have a pretty powerful PC, so no FPS games unless there's no PC version.


 Is this because you didn't liked any other game?  If that is true I have to agree with DmeisterJ about your taste;

Uncharted is pretty good, other than that, congratulations on your new BluRay player (the PS3 really is a great media player since it upscales your DVD's) and what are you going to do on the Cell?

EDIT: if you are complaining about the game becoming two dark (literaly and figuratively) in the second half I agree with you, but it was still a brilliant game

 My physics isn't till Friday, becacuse we do iGCSE, and that is not even the full paper, that is the week after

You are right about it being a great media player but you are still trolling. There are a ridiculous number of great games now. Btw, Entroper, great choice on Super Stardust HD =) You should add me on PSN so we can compare scores.

Are you playing on a devkit PS3? They are 1200 I think, or are you just testing it out on a basic store model?

Anyhow, I don't think there are many games that suit your tastes...

You could try branching out into other genres. Heavenly sword is short and sweet and quite easy to play. You could try Untold legends: Dark kingdom as well, its a pretty easy game to get into. Fun but can get a little repetitive.

Guitar Hero III might be up your alley seen as you bought the first two.

You seem to like spaceship shooters so Everyday Shooter (PSN) might be a good idea.

Motorstorm might not be a bad choice if you're interested in Racing games. You can pick a copy for quite cheap now. Although it might be better to wait about 4-5 months for the sequel.
