It just occured to me while watching a few videos of GH3 mods for "God Knows" from Haruhi.

We should have games over here for anime music lovers (and J-pop lovers). I'm sure there are plenty over here, but would it be that hard to import them over here? Soundtracks are now sold here, so there is a market for those songs.

Then again, there is the fact that if there is any singing involved, we'd have to try to sing another language, but damn, it would be fun to at least try it. 

Are you talking about something like Singstar for japanese music? I don't think there's a real audience for that. It would reach into the Culdcept levels of niche product.

You don't know it would sell that poorly. Not a hit, but poorly even for a niche product? You'd need some actual signs this wouldn't work.

And I didn't mean Sinstar, although a version of that would be cool. I mean like Rock Band, or Guitar Hero, even if those are just DLC. 

Do you have any Soundscan/Billboard sales data to confirm these japanese albums sell over in other territories besides Japan?

DLC for Rock Band, please. Forget Guitar Hero, it's pointless.

Im a huge fan of anime and Japanese music, but unfortunately, you wont be seeing anything of the sort on GH or RB. Reason being interest. There isn't enough. You are talking about anime music competing with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame music.

I think there are a lot of anime sons that would sell, certainly as well as Judas Priest or the indie bands they pick somtimes.

They are sold here, and they have been for years. If there wasn't some sort of market, they would have stopped selling those albums over here a long time ago. Not saying it's enough to justify a whole game, just pointing out sometimes you don't need numbers.

As for a game, I'd expect more a localization from a Japanese company.

Frankly, I'm sick of music that was made before I was even born. I pray the next guitar hero game will have mod mode. Doubt it very much due to the lovely MPAA, but we can dream, right?

I will say this right now: Simple and Clean for Rock Band would force me to pony up that cash for that game.
