blu ray disks are really scratchproof? my cod4 froze on me once though.

That has nothing to do with the BR disc but the GPU.

I actually think it has the most to do with the optical drive just being of better quality (Sony-manufactured Blu-Ray drive in this case). I bet a bad drive COULD scratch a Blu-Ray disc when you turned it sideways while it was spinning...the disc is spinning really fast and it's possible for the hardware to teh suxxor that badly...it's just that the PS3's BD drive holds the discs steady really well, and so shit doesn't get scratched.

Test: move the PS3 while a common CD is spinning. Does it get scratched? No? Then it's the quality of the optical drive that makes the difference, not the scratch-proof coating on Blu-Rays. (if the CD *is* scratched, then ok, the BD coating is the difference, maybe.) Scratch-proof is probably intended to mean: kid-proof.

actually not to long ago i tried this on my ps3 with my friends to prove to them that ps3 doesnt mess up your cds like 360 does. i tried a cd, a dvd, and a blu ray movie, and none of them got a scratch

For those interested, I found this Blu-ray scratch resilliance video.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/19/we-destroy-a-blu-ray-disc/

It survived steel wool, a ball-point pen and a pizza cutter.

EDIT: Supplied wrong link.

Blu-Rays are scratch-proof, that's why your PS3 games aren't scratched. Oh, and because the PS3 isn't a poorly designed piece of crap.

Give it until the Sony exclusive ' break down 1 week after the warranty expires' chip kicks in!!

It did wonders for PS2 sales.

Seriously, PS3 games do not get scratched. All my PS2 games are scratched like crap, but most of my PS3 games still look like new. (with the exception of Warhawk :P )

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Ah, the beauty of planned obsolescence.

Yeh, no scratches on my PS3 games.
With the 360, will you seriously get a scratch if you move the console with a game in? (off or on)

my brother tipped over my friends 360 when we were playing fifa '07. it looked like he tried to use a turnatable to play it. but that wasn't the falcon model. so it may have been fixed. BUT, considering how fast the 360 drive spins the disc anyway...it could be unavoidable.

Hmm I just compared most of my 360 games, and the only one that has scratches on it is GTA4 ... hmm weird. My 360 is flat and I never move it because it supports my LCD monitor.

yea ps3 games dont get scrached ive rubed my game on the wall and nothing happens too em

have you tryed playing anather game on your 360?
