Does this mean Rockstar or PS3 haven't fixed the freezing problem yet?

Well, Rockstar make good games but they are not very good programmers (don't argue with this, they're really not!). The GTA series is the worst of all games as far as pop-in, glitches and hick-up's are concerned. Even the (or especially in some cases) PC versions are terrible in this regard.

Regarding PC versions, I still remember how buggy the first PC game was (the 2D one). It was still a fun game though.

In a few hours of playing GTA4, I've already run into a few bugs too... Some of them are to be expected in a sandbox game due to how much stuff can be done in them, but I still agree with you.

^Yeah, I have GTA 1 and 2 on the PC and the two first ones would often suffer up to 5 second "hick-up's" regardless of the system you played on!
I think the second game was even worse, actually.

So we are to believe that some random dude got an email from R* saying that this was Sony's fault. The whole email sounds bot generated at that. Probably some x-bot trying to stat some shit is what I think.

The problem seems to be with Launch PS3s, so it sounds to me like they didn't test the game on the earlier hardware, so it's their bad for poor QA.

The Bully also had issues, didn`t it? I would bet on Rockstar screwing up on the development rather than PS3 hardware problems.
