seriously, if GC controller is your preference, then just adjustwiimote w/nunchuk so the Dpad is the jump button and C is grab, give it about a week, maybe two weeks, play through SSE using the new controls and it'll be even better than the GC controller.

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

For what it's worth, I experience the same problem with my C-Stick once in a while.  I'll sometimes C-Down but nothing will happen.  It's rare, but happens once in a while.  Gets frustrating when I get hit immediately because I'm standing still doing nothing...
