Actually, I can answer some of that.

The reptiles don't survive after you kill Azala, they're from an alternate timeline... that for some reason are dragged to the past due to the other city Chronopolis or whatever getting sent back in time. (Yeah i know, why the hell did that happen.)

To give them the benefit of the doubt i'll say it's the secret lizard ending in CT. This too is where the "Dragons" came from. Where they were during CT I can't say... It's one of those time paradox things that completly fucks with the story.

Same with El Nido which was created when the time city from the future was drawn to the past. Which again I guess happens after CT which doesn't make any sense and screws with the time paradox problem again that CT deftly avoided.

Also, I think it wasn't so much that Lavos created humans as he "directed" humans. Like influenced people to build technology and such and to advance at a faster rate then normal evolution wise. How this makes the earth stronger for him to consume rather then weaker... i've got no clue.

As for every important person being from the Arichpelo... i'd guess it's because they're all from the future but don't know it because the original scientists all had their minds brainwashed... by evil robo. So they woudln't screw with the timestream... or... something. Rather then... letting the scientists try and get back to the future.

Granted all this just raises more questions... but there you go.

They were all rhetorical questions, but your anwers helped me show how fucked up the whole plot is. With every time travel story you have a basic paradox (like you said, CT tried to avoid). However in CC you have all them times the parallel universes created. The plot is so retarded, that it is impossible to use logic to refute it. Like you said, every question you answer bring several more questions. That is the idea with parallel universes (every choice creates several other dimensions). And mixing it with time travel is incredibily stupid. Think about possible outcomes in CC ending:

1) Serge saved everyone

2) he died and his teammates survived

3) Kid died, he saved the world

4) he failed

Now let`s say that people can travel from the future or past and change that. Someone from a different dimension could also change that. Even though there are only 2 dimension according to the story, someone could make it to the time that the extra dimension was created and make another. Every new dimension is linked to the others and people can time travel and try to change everything in the other dimensions or timelines. However, if Lavos destroy all existence then the dimensions and the timelines are destroyed. But, someone could come from the future or the past and change the outcome of Serge`s batle. Add to that the fact that a simple accident could create a new dimension or warp people and objects to different ages and dimensions and Serge is not even relevant to the story. What if someone came from the future, saved Serge from the panther and Schala never heard him cry? And then ... my brain explodes.

See, it does not make sense.

Also, if I am not mistaken a ghost in Chronopolis said that Lavos created the humans (they also said that thing about evolution). Do not worry, that was just one of those plot twists added for dramatic effect rather than locigal effects. The game is full of them. Like the fact that Schala fused with Lavos got 10 years youger, dyed her hair yellow and then became a new being whose only purpose was to destroy everything - just because Lavos is bad loser and let anger consume him.

I guess the main reason was it wasn't FFVII. Having not played FFVII before playing FFVIII, I absolutely love it. It's my no.1 favourite game. I love the plot, characters, music, gameplay graphics, and pretty much everything about it.

I thought the story was very weak compared to most other RPGs in general, the battle system was.. weird, and other stuff like that. Though I didn't hate it, as I played all the way through it.. in fact it's the last FF game I've actually finished. I played 9, 10, 10-2, 12, but not for very long. Out of the ones I have finished though, it's my least favorite.

Huh, that is a good point.  Since there was supposed to only be 2 realities, that split at the death of serge when he was really young... where the fuck did the reptile city come from.
Hah, i hadnt' thought of that, there were only supposed to be the two realties.  Then there were three.  Except... the two you  travel in aren't apparently natural.
Yeah, that story really is just screwed up.  I think it partially has to do with them putting destiny in a game about hopping through diemnsions and the existance of different dimensions.  I still don't get why Lavos ended up in the same place Schalla did that was some lost weird beyond dimension.  They just tried to make him a lot more then he was.   He wasn't some big evil mastermind like Kefka or Sepiroth that just wanted to destroy everything.  He was a space parasite.

Number 9 was the first Final Fantasy game I played and after that I played 8. I love both games. 8 has a great story and I liked the characters a lot, especially Squall. I actually like the battle system and got used to it pretty quickly. I really have no complaints about it, 8 is one of my favorite games. As to why people hate it,I guess it's because they thought it'd be like FF7.

It wasn't bad but the Love Story was forced & crap....they hardly talked to eachother..

it just didn't leave you with a feeling of wonder like FF6 did or FF10 would later on

You know what is the best part of that nonsensical plot? CC may have never happened. Chrono visited the future, read a story book and found out about it. Then he went on a quest to save Schala and avoid his team mates deaths for the sake of CC plot. Now we can have a proper sequel. What about Serge? Well, without Schala no one heard him crying. He will be missed ... NOT. At least Marge and Wazuki can make other kids.

A lot of people will think im weird with the series after this but my 2 favorite final fantasies were 8 and 10. Two of the most hated games of the series. Actually i didn't really even like 7 very much. Yeahs I usually pick up a flame sheild when going into FF threads.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

I didn't care for the fact that the monsters all leveled up when you did. I like the reward for the grind.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

@soulsamurai

FF10 is nowhere near hated...it is actually VERY popular everywhere..Japanese people even voted it over FF7 on one of their mags.

FF8 though is HATED....but nowhere near as hated a FF12
