Forums - Nintendo - JPN commercials - Tales of Symphonia (some new footage), Imabikisou Wii

It would be easier to judge the best Tales game if Namco actually released them in Europe. I've only played Symphonia and Phantasia (GBA), considering getting a PSP to buy ToE, but probably won't. I wanted ToL, TotT, ToI and TotA but none of them made it here. They almost said Europe will get ToS:DNW so at least that's something. Even that tiny trailer was good. As for the original ToS, well it was my first JRPG so I thought it was great (and still do).

Around the Network

The first one was a nice one, the second one was the one that surprised me the most, really scary how it started and the burning car

Looks like Wii will have a lock on JPRGs this gen...

Based on what?

It already has about 10 jrpgs anounced. ALot more thant he ps3, or the 360. It's also outselling the ps3 3:1 in japan.

3:1? Try 6:1 or more. In Japan, the PS3 is all but dead, the PSP's software sales suck for anything not named "Monster Hunter," and the 360... well, I won't even touch that. That leaves the DS and Wii (and the PS2, but that's last-gen) as platforms for big-budget projects targeted mostly at the Japanese.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
