Forums - Nintendo - Is the Wii/MARIO KART WORTH IT???

Ok, opinions needed from Nintendo fans............Please read before you tear me apart.

I want to get rid of the Wii/trade in for 360 games, The wife and child love it. I hear Banjo Kazooie 3 is going to blow away a lot that is out there as far as family entertainment.

Here is my question, I was thinking on giving the wii another chance with Mario Kart..

Help people, Is Mario Kart wii better than the 64 version and how much better, please be honest.

PS The only reason I bought the wii was for Zelda/Red Steel.

I was on the site a while back and took the advice from Legend and bought a 360.............I am so glad that I did, very entertaining and bought so many games for so little money.

Ive been playing Mario Kart Wii nonstop since it came out. It isnt perfect (aka. battle mode flawed), but its a very very fun game. I love what they did with the franchise (tricks, bikes, no snaking, online is great). With that being said, I'm not sure where you get the idea that Banjo Kazooie 3 will be so great. It might be, but no one knows anything about it yet. All we know about it is that Microsoft is taking the series in a different direction. I love the first two games and will surely buy the third, but right now we have very little information on it. However, there is an embargo on it which shall lift in the coming days/weeks so look out for more information. I love my Wii and play it all the time. After Mario Kart, Im picking up Okami.

Mario Kart has barely changed over the course of its numerous iterations, so take that as you will.

The 360 is definitely not a family orientated console at all. The vast majority of its games are violent and not suitable for children.

The guy at gamestop said he will get in a demo disc, I think I will head over there and play it.
I do like the downloads of older systems on the wii though, like TG-16 and Neo GEo

By it, do you mean the wii?  If the wife and child love it, how can you even consider to get rid of it?

Doesn't take much to blow away what is out there as far as family entertainment for the 360.  Tons of family games for the wii.

Just curious, what games have you tried for the wii?  Doesn't sound like you tried many.

i is a must buy, the online part is very fun

The love of your wife and child is worth more than $100-150 or so you would get from the Wii.

I hear Banjo Kazooie 3 is going to blow away a lot that is out there as far as family entertainment.

And it's not even close to being released. When it is, no one knows how good it will be (those who say it's great are either Rare employees or 360 fanboys, and in either case such reports can be ignored) and Rare has a very spotty track record post Conker's Bad Fur Day. Lastly, you'd be trading in a system that, I suspect, is chok-a-blok full of games your wife and child enjoy, possibly because the WiiMote makes it easier to control, all for one game that maybe they'll want to play.

I think MKWii is a good title. I wouldn't say its as good as MK64, but then that was my first MK title, and I had far more time to devote to it. Of course, for the same reason I wouldn't say it's worse than MK64 - I simply haven't had the chance to explore the games depth or try it online.

However, for the reasons I outlined above, I think it'd be mistake to dump your Wii.
