Did you guys read GT's response to the HDMI/Component isssue? They said "It would not be fair to set the PS3 to it's best settings in comparisons against the 360", I'm not an expert, but aren't those comparisons to see which looks BEST? You'd think therefore both console should be using their best settings.

It's widely believed, with substantial circumstantial evidence to back it up, that GT makes comparisons that are deliberately biased in favor of the 360 vs. the PS3. I don't think it's a "conspiracy theory" to think that this time they were a little too blatant, got a little too sloppy, and are paying for it.

Maybe it isn't true -- maybe they made an honest mistake with that last video. I'd certainly hope that they are not that stupid and lazy, even if they DO bias their videos. But I really don't think it's laughable, given their history, that it could be true.

If it was some other website, perhaps not one infamous for its huge pro-360 bias (or is it anti-PS3? -- don't know, don't care), then I would be more inclined to give it the benefit of the doubt. But it isn't that other site, it's Gametrailers.

 Honestly, I'm not seeing the bias in these clips, with one small exception.

 GTA4: The 360 version looks a little sharper because it is a little sharper. Conversely, the PS3 version has better colors and lighting, seems to have a more stable outdoor frame rate and has less pop-up. The one thing that looked funny to me (as an owner of both versions of the game) was seeing pop-up on the PS3 version and not the 360 version during the helicopter flight. You can claim bias there but personally, I'm willing to let that slide as coincidence. I've definitely noticed more detail pop-in on the 360 version, though the only reason the PS3 has an advantage there is because many of the textures are streaming directly off of the hard drive instead of a DVD drive.

 The Burnout clip is such a poorly edited clusterfuck that you literally can't tell anything by watching it. If you own both systems you can download the demos though and easily see that the 360 version has a few dropped frames that the PS3 version never experiences.

 My only complaint about the DMC4 clip revolves around the usual GT gamma issues on the PS3 version. Having played both demos, I can tell you that the 360 version can look shaper because it lacks a subtle motion blur effect that is present on the PS3 version. You could see this as points in the 360's favor but the 360 version also suffers from texture shimmer and a few seams in in the polygons that aren't there in the PS3 version. The 360 version also has inferior anisotropic filtering as you can see the radius of it moving with the character (when it should instead move with the camera). With the compression present, it's pretty hard to see any difference at all between the two though, so again, I can't see any bias present in the clip you've linked.

 Honestly, the only bias claims I could level at any of the three clips you've linked involves the pop-in on the dissimilar helicopter flights in the GTA IV video. But GT has always sucked at getting similiar in-game, non-cinema shots for their comparisons.

I don't get people sometimes, can anyone tell me WHERE GT SAYS THAT X VERSION IS BETTER in any of their comparison videos.

Seriously, they have never come out and said that one version is superior to another. Also, none of the reviewers of GTA4 mentioned that it freezes the PS3 sometimes, does that mean that it's set in stone that it never does (Obviously not because mines freezed up a few times already). A reviewers opinion is subjective, they say it looks better because that's what they believe, whether it's correct all the time is another story.

Also, what are you smoking username? in that burnout paradise video, the PS3 version is clearly sharper the 360's (you going to call it bias because they say that PS3 is using HDMI and 360 using component).

Seriously, the only reason they put up these video's was to:
1) Let people who own both consoles decide which one is better graphically
2) Suck in fanboys into starting flame wars over which one is better

Obviously alot of Vgchartz members got sucked in, if you own a PS3, why do you care what the 360 version looks like, if you own a 360, why do you care what the PS3 version looks like? It won't change the way your version looks by seeing what the other is like..

I have trouble seeing that one version is sharper in Burnout Paradise in that vid. I just can't see it.

 I care about comparisons because I own both consoles. It's why I got the 360 version of Assassin's Creed, for example. The PS3 version just had more tearing issues and the frame rate was better on the 360 as well.

Yea seriously. It's something that annoys me because I'd like to see comparisons of the consoles much like I'd like to see a good comparison of video cards/CPU's/ect from a review site (I get to learn things in the comparisons as well as keeping up with the industry), but some things bug me about these GT comparisons. Still, that doesn't mean people should go ape-shit crazy about it.

In another post, I'm sure a number of people that have gotten banned from the Gametrailers forums are probably going crazy and being very mean/insulting. Of course, I don't know the full situation of Gametrailers and crazy 'fanboys', but when it comes to these comparisons, I think they could do things better to make sure both consoles are tested more equally in their content rather than igniting flame wars between sides, which is what they seem to love to do with these.

Mainly, I think if they're going to compare it, they should at least try and keep everything as similar as possible.
