Well, I think this is a classic case of someone (Nintendo) refining an already feasable and halfway outlined idea to make the superior product.

That made this the post of this thread and now you have won this thread, congrats!!

ZZzz, wtf oh ok, you said... boy I freaking over looked half that sentance.
My bad, but to challenge that, I don't think this guy was saying anything about the genre as he was saying the game and everything that it is; ideals, hardware, options and software were all immitations of something from the Xbox, Pc, and PS2.
Then he only half asses it and gives a no information on what it is it copied, then goes and gives a link to something that still fails to give info on what it is.
I had to go to the official website to find out what it was, only to see it was basically an execise video with dvd options ish menu placements.
It could database information, but out side of that it was simply the same as watching an exercise video where the intertaction and reward is nonexistant on the virtual level.
I'm sure he didn't even read what it was, or played the software, the closest thing this thing comes to a game is basically a fusion of:
text based game: with fp with doing real exercises.
Which in itself is a game but fails to be equivical to what Wiifit does, is, and intends to do in the matter of how it does this.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Indeed, which is why I posted about EyeToy Kinetic, which is a little bit closer to what Wii Fit is...not much, but a little. As is uses hardware (Eyetoy) to monitor you, has a choice of 2(!!) trainers and is meant to be fun.
While I was doing yoga poses I was wondering if a Camera would go well with my balance board so I have full coverage, Balance board for the feet, camera for the upperbody.
Does anyone have the sales numbers for the EyeToy? I know it sold over 4million but can't find any hard figures for it and would like to compare it's sales to that of the Balance Board as there are a few parallels.

Most things around now aren't original.. a lot of good concepts are released before their time so they don't work as well. A company might come along and release something that was started somewhere else, but actually pulls it off in a very successful manner.
Like.. the power glove thing, the Power Pad, and anything else motion sensor or fitness related.. it's been done before, but just not executed very well. When a company does execute something well and another tries to hop on the bandwagon right away, that's when people tend to point and say "rip off".

So when did another company mention fitness? I am confused. Did MS or Sony state they are coming out with a fitness game, and Nintendo fans yell "ripoff"? Did I miss that thread?
If you want to know what Nintendo ripped off, you have to go back a long time. A long long time.
The Atari Joypad from a quarter century ago. You could stand on the Atari accessory and control a Snowboarding game. Sounds familiar?

Well, there was a thread about MS pushing DDR as an exercise game. It's not really a ripoff, but it was clearly a half-assed attempt to counter Wii Fit.
