Forums - Sales - Wii Fit - 338k Two Week Sales in UK

I am sure week 1 will not come close, but I wonder by end of 08, how Wii Fit sales will compare to GTA IV sales.......

End of 08 == after christmas... so, probably greater than?  I feel that WiiFit will be huge around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years... so if not by the end of '08, then very shortly thereafter.  In my mind it depends more on GTA's legs than anything else.

Wii fit is going to be the monster that no one ever seen before and it´s going to kill GTA by christmas (in total sales), I actually think that it will pass GTA before christmas but that depends on supply.

Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.

The thing Wii Fit has going for it is that it will receive a steady stream of third party titles to support the balance board. So it will continue to sell in the same way Wii Play sells.

Wii has this generation in the bag.

2 days until the Wii Fit hits NA...

Watching sales, I'm scared how its sales are basically limited by supply.

As an old schooler, I'm amazed how Smash Bros and Mario Kart sales will be tiny compared to Wii Fit.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

it is selling like everyone thought it would...rather well

Well, it's selling out.

Wii fit is going to be absolutely huge. I've seen some magazines targeted at families (parents, some women's magazines, etc) that absolutely rave about how awesome Wii Fit is, and how every family should have a Wii and Wii Fit. They bill it as an extremely inexpensive, flexible, and enjoyable workout device that the whole family can enjoy, with the added bonus of family-friendly wii games available.

I completely underestimated Wii Fit. This game is gonna be huge in the US.

As an old schooler, I'm amazed how Smash Bros and Mario Kart sales will be tiny compared to Wii Fit.

They'll both be 10 million + games, possibly each 15 million +, but Wii Fit will almost certainly eclipse both of them.

I know people think I'm crazy but I still think "NA" Wii Fit sales will outsell "worldwide" combined GTA4 sales by the end of this generation. There is zero doubt in my mind that total Wii Fit sales will outsell total GTA4 sales.

Zero!

Sounds like a circuit mode would be a good idea. On X-Play, Nintendo made Adam Sessler do a series of excercises before it would get to any of the "games". He was whiny about it, but it makes sense.

I'm excited about both the fitness aspect and games. How much of Wii-Fit is playable at start and how much has to be unlocked?

Are there games that will take a lot of work to unlock?

I don't have the game at hand now, but I'd reckon about 1/4 - 1/3 of the workouts and balance games are playable from the start, the rest you have to unlock. I've been playing it quite casually, and (I have to admit) mostly the balance games since they are the most fun :) I now have five of the nine balance games unlocked, after a few hours of gameplay, but I don't know how long it takes to unlock the rest. The games also have different difficulty levels you need to unlock, so there's some stuff to get to for awhile. Anyway, I suspect it will take most people the longest to unlock all of the muscle and aerobic workouts ;)

I blame Wii Fit for the end of "gaming".
